Welcome to our new Mission Education Director for the Missionary Childhood Association, Andrea Rodriguez. Andrea began her new role in July 2024. As the MCA Mission Educator, she works in collaboration with and support teachers, parents and catechists as they share the “Good News” and work of Missionaries in dioceses around the world with the young people of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. She is available to each of you to develop integrated programs to form your students as Missionary Disciples. Through easy-to-implement ideas that complement your existing catechetical program, Andrea will be able to support the Church’s Mission and yours to help students learn about their baptismal responsibility to evangelize, grow in understanding of the lives of children their age in the developing world and become active Missionary Disciples through their own witness, prayer and sacrifice.
Andrea received her Bachelor of Arts from Franciscan University of Steubenville in Philosophy. Prior to this role, Andrea spent the last two years as a Theology of the Body Missionary in the Diocese of Toledo and the Diocese of Cleveland. She is excited to continue to share the Catholic faith with students and to help them see their connection to the universal Church.
Andrea looks forward to continuing the wonderful initiatives already present in the Archdiocese including the Religion Bee, Christmas Art Contest, and visiting and presenting to schools, youth groups and PREP programs, as well developing some new ideas.
Please join us in welcoming Andrea to our Mission team. She looks forward to speaking and meeting you and being a part of your role in shaping Missionary Disciples.
